Project summary

The main objective of the project is to strengthen the institutional cooperation between the Univ. of Oradea and Univ. of Debrecen in the field of usage Artificial Intelligence’ Advanced Techniques in finance, accounting and business administration in Bihor-Hajdu Bihar Region through organization of 5 joints specialized courses, acquisition of AI software and laptops, 2 cross-border exchange of experience, 2 workshops, elaboration of a common strategy and an e-book of AI techniques applied in economic field. This objective aligns with the overarching goal of the Interreg VI-A Romania- Hungary Cross-Border Cooperation Program, particularly under Priority 3, which emphasizes more sustainable, community-based, and effective cross-border cooperation.

The contemporary business environment demands modern methods and techniques to support financial decision-making, aiming to enhance performance and enable resource-efficient management for delivering high-quality products and services to consumers. With this necessity in mind, institutional cooperation in the research activity within this project encompasses three primary directions of action:

• Specialized training in advanced techniques of Artificial Intelligence in Finance and Business Administration.
• Procurement of software and computing technology for testing and implementing artificial intelligence.
• Exchange of experiences in researching and usage Advanced Techniques in Artificial Intelligence within Finance, Accounting and Business Administration in the Bihor-Hajdu Bihar Region.

This project is a collaborative effort between two academic institutions, and its outcomes will be made accessible to both specialized and non-specialized audiences. All project results will be published on the partners’ website and distributed free of charge to interested parties.

Simultaneously, by employing advanced artificial intelligence techniques as described earlier, companies located at the Hungarian-Romanian border can improve their economic status, indirectly benefiting the regional economy and the well-being of the public.

The project aims to achieve several key results:

Foster institutional cooperation between the University of Oradea and the University of Debrecen, ensuring joint training of staff in advanced techniques of artificial intelligence applied in finance, accounting, and business administration. This will establish a specialized group of experts capable of disseminating knowledge to students and companies and providing consultancy on specialized software usage.

• Transfer knowledge to decision-makers, SME owners, and at least two other institutions engaged in economic development and SME activities through courses, events and the strategy.
• Procure a specialized software package designed for advanced techniques in artificial intelligence applied in finance, accounting, and business administration.
• Organize two knowledge-sharing events with 20 participants each, facilitating collaborative research and the development of artificial intelligence algorithms in finance, accounting and business administration.
• Disseminate project knowledge to at least 100 students (50 from each partner), with the expectation of later integrating this knowledge into the real economy.
• Compile a Strategy for inclusion of Artificial Intelligence’ Advanced Techniques in finance, accounting and business administration in Bihor-Hajdu Bihar Region” to share the expertise gained during the institutional cooperation and develop the specialized skills necessary for joint research activities conducted by the two universities.

Project Budget: 199.998,06 EUR from which:

• 159.998,44 EUR financed by ERDF,
• 23.399,41 EUR Romanian State Budget
• 2.599,95 EUR financed by University of Oradea,
• 14.000,27 EUR financed by Hungarian State budget. 

Form the total budget of 199.998,06 EUR, the budget allocated to University of Oradea consists of 129.996,72 EUR and University of Debrecen 70.001,34 EUR.

The project is funded by the European Union under the Interreg fund and co-financed by Romania and Hungary.
